The Wedding Invitations are done!

They are in envelopes in boxes waiting for address labels and stamps. Pictures to follow.  What a relief, now if I can get them into the mail before Canada Post strikes, I will do the happy dance.

Ackk!!! Blogger is messed up for me

I haven't been able to get into blogger for a few days. Endless log in loop. Finally tried IE8 and now I can post. I am hoping that Blogger will get this fix so I can back to using Chrome.
Wedding invitations 50 are done, not in the mail but done.  I am hoping to get them all in the mail Monday, before Canada Post goes on strike.
Been very neglectful of diet and exercise. Monday, I am hitting the exercise big time.
Won't be able to do the treadmill though.  At the moment I have water running down the wall in my basement beside the treadmill.  We have a plugged eaves trough on the condo and the water is coming my dryer vent.  Condo management can't or won't do anything until it stops raining, big help that is. I'll have to check again tonight and make sure nothing can get wet.  One big problem is that the electric outlet for the dryer is right where the water is coming down.  I turned the switch off at the panel, but will need to have an electrician look at it before I can use it.  Might have to buy some clothes, but I did want to lose a few pounds before that.

I'll post invitation pictures once I have them in the mail, at least then you can look at pretty pictures. I'll also post some cat pictures too, many sneak in a kitten photo or 2.  I haven't been able to get out to see the kittens.  I hope to soon. I do hope I can find a sweet thing that is a lap kitty.  Katie keeps trying to be a lap kitty, (she is so silly) but really doesn't like to be on your lap unless you have paper there lol.

Making Progress

On wedding invitations at least lol.  I have about 50 library envelopes done, that is cut glued and distressed. I have about 105 book pages done and cut in half, I will trim the rest today, if not busy at work.  Think I will have N come over to help with the dry embossing, this weekend. Maybe will start assembly, still waiting on a stampmajig to do the stamping.  Might have to youtube a makeshift one. Did take pictures, but will only post them once the invitations are in the mail.

Mac seems to be doing all right at the moment. Hubby is taking a wait and see approach.  Still waiting on call backs for about 4 jobs, it's the old hurry up and wait.  Need something soon.

I am hoping to take a bit of a break on Sunday and pop to Okotoks to see kittens, they are still young, but still be nice to see them.

Life Update

Really nothing much going on.  Just life as I know it.
Still working on the wedding invitations lots still to do, mostly cutting the library pockets and the library card RSVP.  They are going to look awesome if I say so myself. (reminder to self take pictures of the process).
Spent Mother's Day at the emergency vet with the Eskie MacLeod, he fell from our bed and injured his left from leg.  Soft tissue injury with out taking x-rays was the diagnoses.  His liver or kidney enzymes were elevated so no anti inflammatories, just pain killers, so the poor boy is doped up on opiates.  Mother's Day supper was at Swiss Chalet with my Mom, hubby, our son and gf, my sister, her son and DIL along with her Mom and Grandma. It was a wonder evening out.  Sure beat the heck out of cooking.
DH got my a Kobo, I might have mention that before, not that I seem to have time to read lol.

Hubby still is not working, everyone keeps saying soon. ACK!!!! Wish he know have to cut on the Silhouette lol.
Had a card class last night, I'll post pictures later. Made my Mom a wonderful, no time to take a picture (good thing she keeps them).
Tag Tuesday today at Scrapbookers Paradise, then home to do some cutting of library pockets.

So I am Thinking of Getting another Ragdoll

After the fiasco with Lucy see this  Post for some more info, I have been seriously thinking of getting another Ragdoll.  I have been talking to the breeder I got Freyr and Freya from, she has a number of litters due this spring.  Getting a kitten instead of a full on adult, should help with acceptance and also not an queen (adult female).  Katie accepted the kittens fairly well, she just didn't like sharing a house with another adult female and same with Lucy.  Hubby is not on board yet!   I am not in a big hurry, as this time I know what I want and the kind of temperament I really want (a cuddle bug, purr baby).  I can wait until after the wedding to pick up the kitten.  Hopefully by that time I will have convinced hubby.
No card making went on at all on the weekend. Did start a bit of clean up in the craft room, still looks like an episode of Hoarders but not quite as bad as this  post, but still not enough to stamp.
I do have to get started on the wedding invitations, the kids will still have to approve a layout. Hopefully hubby will be working soon.  I don't like him working away, but it does give me a little more room and time to myself.
Reading back over the last year I realized I never did post our holiday pictures. So maybe I'll mess with that later this week.

Save the Dates are done!

The Save the Dates are all done. I mailed about 30 of them yesterday.  I need more US stamps (postage) the rest are being addressed and mail today.  I will take some nice pictures this weekend with natural light and the good camera.  I did notice a different in the distress of the second batch, it seems lighter.  I guess I have to refill the ink pad more than I did. I was also having trouble with the Rangers Ink Blending tool, replacement pads it were leaving pieces of foam on the cards.  I did try to take some pictures to send to Ranger Ink, to see if that is suppose to happen.  It happened with more than one.  I am wondering if I got a bad batch of replacement pads.

No exercise last night, so had better get at it tonight. Might need to exercise just to stay warm. -35C with wind chill this morning BRRRRRR. 

Oops, and waiting game

Well I got 40 save the dates done, the way I like them, they turned out awesome.  I will post picture later, actually have to take a couple on a real camera not the iphone lol.
When I did up the template, I messed up the measurement for the bottom or 3rd on the page.  I ended up with on 2 per page.  I also didn't like the way the plain cardstock, even with pearl mist turned out.  The post office said those would also have to be attached to another piece of cardstock to make through the mail.  I finally ordered some more of the metallic cardstock  (worldwin papers, elan_metallics.) it's the champagne colour. So now waiting on the the card stock, and the address labels DD was suppose to get to me.  I have the guest list, I love Google Docs lol. I think I will do up some labels at work for those that don't have facebook.  Those on facebook have been invited to the "Save the Date" Event, now weather they know how to view and accept it is another story.
 I have an awesome picture of Freya helping with the Save the Date cards, but I can't seem to save it off my phone. Okay I think I have solved the problem, downloaded an app for that lol.

Finally got the layout done, I can fit 3 to a page. Printed out 33 and then tried the shiny cardstock and liked it a lot more. So I guess I am off to Scrapbooker's Paradise at lunch to get more of the shiny cardstock.  I'll see what the kids say about what to do with the non-shiny save the dates.
I will finish printing before leaving work today and then work on the cutting and distressing on the weekend.

They have the venue booked. So after this month we can breath for a little bit. I can play with some ideas for the actual invitations. RSVP etc.

Happy Valentines Day!

Been very lazy, going to blame it on that flu lol. New start to the week. I got the wording and type set of the Save the Date cards. Just going to try it on the lazer printer at work to see how the smudging goes with the ink and distress inks.  Then to mass print and distress.
When I was in Ottawa, the girls and I got together to do some Valentine card making, Once again phone pictures, so I will up load them under the card tab, once I do the facebook to piccasa switch, then on the blog.

Designing Save the Date cards this weekend

Finally feeling better, that flu or cold knocked me out for most of a week.  Now to get things done.  The kids want to do library index cards for the "save the date" cards.  Matt is a library student, so it seems appropriate.  I think the best bet is to make a 3x5 card and type in my Silhouette, then duplicate it a couple of times and cut as many as I need or do a print and cut, still learning how to work the Silhouette.  Then I'll do some of Tim Holtz distress inks, remember NOT to use water lol.  That doesn't work so well with printer ink. Still working on a design for the invitations and RSVP etc cards.  Sheena is looking at having tartan (MacDonald of Clan Ranald) on her wedding dress. Her Dad wants to wear a kilt. Post more information later

I am going to be Mother of the Bride

Yep our trip to Ottawa was eventful.  Met Daughters boyfriend, very nice person. Spent some time with the nieces. Did a tour of the Mint. Sunday was the Imbolc party, at which Matt purposed to Sheena. Nether one of them can keep a secret, before that we were talking about this event. lol. Any way the date is September 3, 2011, yep that is this September. They are working on the guest list and a proto type of the save the date card. Since Matt is finishing up  school for library technician, we are doing a library reference card.  They will have to be out the end of this month.
This also means I had better step up my get healthy plans. Well off to catch up the emails and google reader, laundry for work tomorrow.
