Something to think about for the coming year

My sweet niece shared this video on facebook; it does give us something to think about at we head into a new year.
I am not even looking at my goals or resolutions from last year.  I didn't do most of them but it was still a great year.  My beautiful daughter had a wonderful wedding, we got to see some people we hadn't seen in years.  I added to the fur family (even if we snuck MonAimee in lol).  The new year will bring us our first grandchild. Our 30th Wedding anniversary (wow that long already) and who know what else.

Promises, Promises .......

Promises, seems that is all I am doing for this blog.  The SAD is becoming depression or has become.  I make it to work and home, feed the hooligans and myself then sit and watch the evil TV.  If it wasn't for Tag Tuesday at the local scrapbook store and the chiropractic appointments that I take my Mom to, I wouldn't go any where.
So here is my thoughts, I am afraid to look at last years goals for the year, I am pretty sure I accomplished few.  I NEED to pull myself out of this rut before it becomes a deep dark hole.  There is no reason, there never is a reason for depression.  I should be happy, there will be a new family member early next year, our first grandbaby.  Then I think they are so far away, and I get feeling down again about missing so many things that will happen in the first few years of the baby's life.  I worry because I am not there for my daughter.  I will be out in Ottawa when the baby is born and a few week to help.  Small house lots of people not sure how that will work out.

There is a new gym opening in the building where I work.  I am trying to decide whether to join or not. It's about $40 per month twice what I was paying at the last place - mind you we got into an awesome deal there, but didn't use it enough to continue the membership.  Now that getting home right after work is not an issue, I could work out for an hour or take a fitness class.  I don't know what to do.

Even my card making has been non existent, I have Christmas cards to get out to the wonderful ladies on the Ragdoll Forum, some of these have to make it across the world.  Goal to have them in the mail Monday at latest.
So here are a few pictures from the summer and fall - at least I will full fill part of the promise to put pictures up here

Need to revamp blog and get all those pictures up

I have been terrible this fall about blogging - my depression has kick itself in gear and am having trouble doing anything I enjoy.  I am fighting it and every day I tell myself I will do this and that and every day I come home from work and sit in front of that boob tube as my parents used to call it.  I am going off to get my hair cut and then went I get home I will try between laundry and kitchen cleaning to blog a bit and post the wedding pictures and some Raggie pictures.

Back from a lovely but exhausting trip

Just a quick post to say I am back from the wedding.  It was a beautiful ceremony Sheena looked like a goddess. I will be posting pictures soon. I forgot once again to take pictures of the cards I made her lol. I took today off as I am exhausted going to go for  a nap soon.  I was not used to the humidity and no air conditioning or fans in her apartment.  Going to have my first coffee today, as I had to run out for some groceries.  Good time to begin eating clean again lol.
The little ones grew a lot while I was gone, Rune doubled his size I think. I'll post some before and after pictures as well.  Now to pay off all the bills and start saving to spoil the grandchild

Tonight we will be having the vet come in to our home to help us send our beautiful 17 year American Eskie to Summerland.  MacLeod has not been doing well the last year.  Most of the family feel that he is not getting the quality of life he should be having.  He has in the past few weeks refused to take pain medicine for his hips and his anti-anxiety medicine as well.  It is a bittersweet feeling, sad to say goodbye but happy he will no longer be in pain and he will find his best bud Eclipse waiting for him.  I don't have good pictures on this computer, but felt I should post a short post.

Sad Sad Sad After watching Jeremiah on netflex I wonder if this type of things continues how will we survive the end of the world as we know it. Actually this type of thing will bring on the end of the world as we know it.

Are these famines in third world countries in part cause by GMO seeds? One does wonder and I have to say how can one patent "life"? So once everyone is full of GMO foods does that mean then Monsanto can claim our children? They are after started like seeds and full of the GMO crops through osmosis. Just some thoughts.

So Busy - Getting Ready for Wedding and Big News

Been busy with the new kittens Yes you read right kittens plural and getting ready for the wedding.  I am heading out next week to Ottawa as daughter is in panic mode but of course baby hormones are not helping. Yes you read that right too I AM GOING TO BE A GRANDMA!!!!!!!!!! in February.  So excited.
I will try to update the blog before I go with pictures of the kittens and some of the card I have made lately except the one I made for DD's godchild, I forgot to take pictures *shakes head*  She did love it with butterflies and fairies, but what 9 year old girl wouldn't.

Been a very busy July.  First daughter Sheena was home, with her Matt.  They had a good time Matt was amazed at the mountains.  She took him out to Drumheller to see the hoodoo and dinosaur museum. Royal Tyrrell Museum.  We went on a day trip to Banff, I still have to upload the pictures from my iphone as I forgot the good camera.
We had a party for them.  I was very disappointed in the turn out.  Only a couple of her "friends" bothered to come, to help celebrate.  Good thing one can rely on family.

A Quick post

Little busy at work.  Sheena and Matt will be here on Friday, yikes I still have lots to do. Grocery shopping tonight, some days I wish I had a cook.
Got some updated pictures of my new Ragdoll boy, who is still nameless and referred to as little Blaze.  He is nine weeks now so he will be ready to come home just after Sheena and Matt leave.  He is a blue mitted with a tiny blaze.

 A week from today Sheena and Matt will be here.  I am having a neighbour come in tomorrow to help spring clean the townhouse.  I can keep up or as my mom would say "a lick and a promise", but with Sheena's allergies and not being her cats, I want as much hair and dust cleaned up.
Ended up with hives two weeks ago, not sure what caused them, what a pain or should I say itch. Now still have to be careful with things and the sun.  Going to have to brave it today, need to get the grass cut.
First I am off to get some fans and lightbulbs (walking in the dark here lol)
Then I need to find my summer clothes - YEP I said summer clothes, the warm weather is finally here.

So I didn't post on the weekend - oops

Not sure where the time went, wasted on FB maybe. Anyway hubby's dear niece had her baby on Saturday. A baby boy James Joseph.  It was my Mom's 86 birthday, Sheena's godmothers's grandsons 2nd birthday, a bit of a busy day.  Made a nice card for my Mom, Saturday morning.  Cleaned up the kitchen (if you saw it this morning you would never know).  Sunday, I did laundry, thankfully it was beautiful sunny day, so I could hang them outside. Cut the grass again, but since I slept, in it was too hot to pull the grass in the flower beds.  I did make sure there was NO standing water in the yard, those pesky mosquitoes are some nasty this year.  Did some prep work for meals, no menu planned but still a work in progress.  Cleaned the one pantry. Won't get much done tonight as I am hopefully going to see the kittens. Maybe I'll get to pick which will be mine.

Okay the weekend is almost here, I have been taking pictures just not uploaded yet. I promise along with the million other things this weekend I will do a blog post with card and cat pictures

The Wedding Invitations are done!

They are in envelopes in boxes waiting for address labels and stamps. Pictures to follow.  What a relief, now if I can get them into the mail before Canada Post strikes, I will do the happy dance.

Ackk!!! Blogger is messed up for me

I haven't been able to get into blogger for a few days. Endless log in loop. Finally tried IE8 and now I can post. I am hoping that Blogger will get this fix so I can back to using Chrome.
Wedding invitations 50 are done, not in the mail but done.  I am hoping to get them all in the mail Monday, before Canada Post goes on strike.
Been very neglectful of diet and exercise. Monday, I am hitting the exercise big time.
Won't be able to do the treadmill though.  At the moment I have water running down the wall in my basement beside the treadmill.  We have a plugged eaves trough on the condo and the water is coming my dryer vent.  Condo management can't or won't do anything until it stops raining, big help that is. I'll have to check again tonight and make sure nothing can get wet.  One big problem is that the electric outlet for the dryer is right where the water is coming down.  I turned the switch off at the panel, but will need to have an electrician look at it before I can use it.  Might have to buy some clothes, but I did want to lose a few pounds before that.

I'll post invitation pictures once I have them in the mail, at least then you can look at pretty pictures. I'll also post some cat pictures too, many sneak in a kitten photo or 2.  I haven't been able to get out to see the kittens.  I hope to soon. I do hope I can find a sweet thing that is a lap kitty.  Katie keeps trying to be a lap kitty, (she is so silly) but really doesn't like to be on your lap unless you have paper there lol.

Any way just thought I would post so you know I am having blog issues

A good article, of course related to the United States, but the rest of the world needs to stand up and do something in there own countries. The multinational companies will take over our food supplies, Monsanto, already have too much control i third world countries, stopping the little farmer from being able to feed himself and his family.

Making Progress

On wedding invitations at least lol.  I have about 50 library envelopes done, that is cut glued and distressed. I have about 105 book pages done and cut in half, I will trim the rest today, if not busy at work.  Think I will have N come over to help with the dry embossing, this weekend. Maybe will start assembly, still waiting on a stampmajig to do the stamping.  Might have to youtube a makeshift one. Did take pictures, but will only post them once the invitations are in the mail.

Mac seems to be doing all right at the moment. Hubby is taking a wait and see approach.  Still waiting on call backs for about 4 jobs, it's the old hurry up and wait.  Need something soon.

I am hoping to take a bit of a break on Sunday and pop to Okotoks to see kittens, they are still young, but still be nice to see them.

Life Update

Really nothing much going on.  Just life as I know it.
Still working on the wedding invitations lots still to do, mostly cutting the library pockets and the library card RSVP.  They are going to look awesome if I say so myself. (reminder to self take pictures of the process).
Spent Mother's Day at the emergency vet with the Eskie MacLeod, he fell from our bed and injured his left from leg.  Soft tissue injury with out taking x-rays was the diagnoses.  His liver or kidney enzymes were elevated so no anti inflammatories, just pain killers, so the poor boy is doped up on opiates.  Mother's Day supper was at Swiss Chalet with my Mom, hubby, our son and gf, my sister, her son and DIL along with her Mom and Grandma. It was a wonder evening out.  Sure beat the heck out of cooking.
DH got my a Kobo, I might have mention that before, not that I seem to have time to read lol.

Hubby still is not working, everyone keeps saying soon. ACK!!!! Wish he know have to cut on the Silhouette lol.
Had a card class last night, I'll post pictures later. Made my Mom a wonderful, no time to take a picture (good thing she keeps them).
Tag Tuesday today at Scrapbookers Paradise, then home to do some cutting of library pockets.

Sad News at Kittencam.org

kittencam.org - A litter of strays, wiggling live.

I'm afraid we have some bad news. Pony wasn't doing so well on Sunday night, so we took him to the vet. He was severely dehydrated, and his condition was assumed to be congenital. The vet ran a blood test and he came back positive for FELV. FELV is almost always lethal in kittens, and with the vet's strong recommendation we had him put down. He is sorely missed.

Unfortunately, Pony almost certainly contracted FELV from Oscarina, and the rest of the litter is at high risk. We are taking them to the vet this afternoon and will post updates here when possible.

Want to help? FELV+ cats have special needs. Most importantly, they must live either alone or with other FELV+ cats, and must lead indoor lives. If you or somebody you know could provide a loving home to an FELV+ cat, please contactADOPTION@KITTENCAM.ORG.

This is amazing, the neighbourhood stray had kittens on this person deck, they set up a web cam to record the growth and progress of the kittens. They are taking donations to get the mother spayed, the kittens adopted out to good homes. I think the mother too. This is a novel idea, I have seen the eagle cams, but this is just too cute and I had to share

Neglecting the blog this month and last. Sheep breeding in Farmville on Facebook can be blamed. The newest of that has worn off, so hopefully back to getting things done lol.  Took a bunch of pictures of the cats and dog yesterday, will find time to watermark and up load soon. Back to sorting the tax papers, then house work.  Hubby is back home this week.  On the 20th is his 50th birthday and I have to get a card made.

April Already

I was a little hit and miss on blogging last month. I did get a couple cards done, and the mock up of the wedding invitations. The kids have gotten it, but Matt is in the middle of exams and not feeling well. Will post pictures of those when I am home. Scrapbookers Paradise are having what they call tag Tuesdays now. I am going to learn about making tags Tim Holtz style.

This is one I did a while ago for Chinese New Year for my son's girl friend, my take on a red envelope. Flourishes cherry blossom stamp, SU markers, diamond glaze on the flowers and Spellbinders die. I am not sure which embossing folder.  I will get my room organized enough to have notes taken when making soon. Once again these are from my iphone, I hope the new iphone 5 when it comes has that antishake thing on the camera lol.

So I am Thinking of Getting another Ragdoll

After the fiasco with Lucy see this  Post for some more info, I have been seriously thinking of getting another Ragdoll.  I have been talking to the breeder I got Freyr and Freya from, she has a number of litters due this spring.  Getting a kitten instead of a full on adult, should help with acceptance and also not an queen (adult female).  Katie accepted the kittens fairly well, she just didn't like sharing a house with another adult female and same with Lucy.  Hubby is not on board yet!   I am not in a big hurry, as this time I know what I want and the kind of temperament I really want (a cuddle bug, purr baby).  I can wait until after the wedding to pick up the kitten.  Hopefully by that time I will have convinced hubby.
No card making went on at all on the weekend. Did start a bit of clean up in the craft room, still looks like an episode of Hoarders but not quite as bad as this  post, but still not enough to stamp.
I do have to get started on the wedding invitations, the kids will still have to approve a layout. Hopefully hubby will be working soon.  I don't like him working away, but it does give me a little more room and time to myself.
Reading back over the last year I realized I never did post our holiday pictures. So maybe I'll mess with that later this week.

Save the Dates are done!

The Save the Dates are all done. I mailed about 30 of them yesterday.  I need more US stamps (postage) the rest are being addressed and mail today.  I will take some nice pictures this weekend with natural light and the good camera.  I did notice a different in the distress of the second batch, it seems lighter.  I guess I have to refill the ink pad more than I did. I was also having trouble with the Rangers Ink Blending tool, replacement pads it were leaving pieces of foam on the cards.  I did try to take some pictures to send to Ranger Ink, to see if that is suppose to happen.  It happened with more than one.  I am wondering if I got a bad batch of replacement pads.

No exercise last night, so had better get at it tonight. Might need to exercise just to stay warm. -35C with wind chill this morning BRRRRRR.

Playing with the blog again

Finally figured out how to do decent watermarks for my pictures, now slowly switching them out.  I know that won't work on all. It is a start.
Got the rest of the save the dates printed out. DH should be home tomorrow to help cut them.  I want them out on Monday.
DH headed to Edmonton for a job interview on Friday and a visit with a dying friend.
I have been watching a Hoarders marathon, so now I have to clean lol.
I got the upstairs bedroom (cat room), mostly done, still have the bedding on the bed to wash.  Floors are mostly done. Living room will have to be done tomorrow.
